The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Extra Ordinary Delegates Conference has today suspended Party President Patrick Oboi Amuriat, the Secretary General Nathan Nandala Mafabi and the General Treasurer Geoffrey Ekanya from their positions.

The suspension follows reports that the trio received money from State House for purposes of subverting the goals of the party, fight former party president, Rtd. Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye and fight any alliance between FDC and National Unity Platform (NUP).

Nathan Nandala Mafabi, the party’s Secretary General an Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat, the party president during one of the press conferences recently.

During the Extra Ordinary Delegates Conference held at the Katonga based Red Card Front offices owned by former Party President and four time Presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye, the trio were replaced with Elias Lukwago, Harold Kaija and Francis Mwijukye in acting position as President, Secretary General and Treasurer General respectively.

The conference happened amidst tight security by Uganda Police, military officers and goons purportedly by Nandala Mafabi who tried unsuccessfully to stop or disrupt the conference.

Relations between the suspended trio and multitudes of FDC supporters soured after Kizza Besigye blew the whistle on the arrival of Museveni’s money into FDC. The public whistle blowing by Besigye happened after several internal mechanisms had tried to resolve the matter of what is now called “dirty money” in FDC but in vain.

The suspension and reports of dirty money acquired from President Museveni now leaves Nandala Mafabi’s shattered beyond repair with many Political observers beginning to question his integrity credentials.

However, at the Party Headquarters at Najjanankumbi, the process of returning the nomination forms for candidates vying for different party positions have gone on as earlier slated by the Nandala Mafabi faction. The process will go on up to later this week on Thursday 21.
