Buganda Government Mourns Death of Prince Jjunju’s Mother

The Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga with deep sorrow has announced the death of Ambassador Venetia Sebudandi, the mother of Prince Crispin Kiweewa Jjunju, the son to the Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.

The Katikkiro has passed his condolences to Prince Jjunju for losing his lovely mother whom he cherished so much.

“We pray that God awards the deceased with Eternal Rest, and to keep firm Prince Jjunju and other relatives to the deceased,” Mayiga wrote in a message on his X (Twitter) handle, today’s afternoon.

A Rwandan by nationality, Sebudandi was a diplomatic representative for Rwanda in a number of countries. “She died on November 13, 2023, after following sick for some time,” says the second deputy Katikkiro of Buganda, Robert Wagwa Nsibirwa, in a condolence document he signed.

Amb. Sebudandi will be laid to her ancestral grounds at Rusororo in Rwanda, on November 18, 2023 at 2:00pm.
Nsibirwa says Buganda Kingdom is going to take full representation in the burial arrangements.

The condolence message in Luganda further reads: “Obuganda bwonna bukubagiza n’okukungubagirako Ssaabasajja Kabaka n’Omulangira Kiweewa wamu n’olulyo Olulangira olw’okuzaama kw’Omuzaana okulekedde Obuganda eddibu eddene.”
