At least ten people have been confirmed dead in a road accident that occurred in Lugazi on Kampala-Jinja highway.
The accident which involved a Fuso track registration number UBN 533T is reported to have occurred during a heavy downpour during Tuesday night.
The Fuso which had loaded sacks of oranges and their owners was heading from Busoga side to the market in Kampala.
Reports indicate that scores of people sustained injuries including fractures and the victims are currently admitted at Kawolo General Hospital receiving treatment.
The bodies for the deceased that include children have also been taken to Kawolo Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
The traffic police in Ssezibwa region is yet to come out with what caused the tragic accident. Also the Ssezibwa Region Police spokesperson, Hellen Butoto had not yet come out with any report regarding this accident by presstime.
