Diary Farmers Cooperative Union Quality Controller Charged, Remanded for Theft of sh474m

The State House Anti-Corruption Unit in conjunction with the Crime Investigation Department and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution on Friday arraigned Myers Muhimbura, the Quality Controller of Ntungamo Dairy Farmers Cooperative Union (NDAFUCO) for theft of sh474m.

Also charged with Neglect of Duty is; Laban Mugizi Rukangayo, (Accountant), Abesigye Dan Kakiza (Secretary/Manager), Turyahikayo Caleb (Treasurer) & Kyampaire Jennifer (Cashier) all staff of NDAFUCO.

Apart from Myers Muhimbura, the rest did not appear in Court but criminal summons were issued to them.

Court heard that the accused Muhimbura would record lesser quantities of milk supplied to the cooperative by member farmers and after selling the milk delivered, he would steal the difference of money realised.

The suspect has been remanded until 13/06/2024.
