Minister Nandutu Comes Out of Hiding-Hands Self to Police

The State Minister for Karamoja Affairs, Agnes Nandutu has finally come out of hiding and handed herself to Police. Nandutu is said to have handed over herself to Kibuli Police CID Headquarters where she is currently undergoing Interrogation.

Nandutu was reported by Police to have gone into hiding since last Friday following her being summoned by the Police’s Crime Investigating Directorate to record statements.

However, today, Tuesday April 18, Nandutu has handed herself to police which is interrogating her on allegations of stealing iron sheets meant for the people of Karamoja sub-region. Police reportedly recovered over 7000 iron sheets from Nandutu’s home in Mukono Municipality.

So far, Senior Karamoja Affairs Minister Marry Gorreti Kitutu and her brother Micheal Naboya were charged in the Kololo based Anti-Corruption Court over the Mismanagement of the Karamoja Empowerment Programme Iron Sheets. The duo was granted court bail on Friday.

Also the State Minister for Finance, Amos Lugoloobi is the latest to be arraigned before the same Anti-Corruption Court which sat on Monday 17th April 2023.

Lugoloobi, the Ntenjeru North Member of Parliament in Kayunga district was charged with related cases to those of his colleague, Minister Kitutu. He was however remanded to Luzira Prison until Thursday 20th when his bail application will be heard.
