Fear on Thursday gripped residents of Kyankima Cell in Kasangati Town Council, Wakiso district after a murder incident which involved a woman stabbing to death a Born-Again Pastor.

The suspect has been identified as Bushirah Nekesa whereas the deceased is Pr. Julius Wamala of Pure Heart Miracle Centre.

It is alleged that after stabbing Wamala on the heart, Nekesa went and handed herself to Kasangati Police which subsequently charged her with murder.  The incident is said to have happened on Thursday late evening.

The Kyankima Cell chairperson, Edward Musoke Mulyanga said that Nekesa first got a misunderstanding with Wamala which had resulted from noise pollution from the church and the matter was amicably handled by the local council.

“We asked Wamala to get means of regulating the noise from the church in order to give his neighbour, Nekesa peace. Fortunately, he responded positively and they got some sigh of relief,” Mulyanga narrated.

He added that a few days ago, Nekese also reported a matter where she had developed disagreements regarding land boundaries.

“We promised to go on the ground as the whole cell council on Sunday and see how the matter would be resolved. Unfortunately, Nekese lost control and decided to stab Wamala before the set date,” he said.

Mulyango also said that Wamala had reported a case of threatening violence against Nekesa to Kansangati Police but the matter was taken lightly and Police did not respond.

He added: “Wamala said Nekesa had promised to kill him or one of his children. It’s unfortunate that she went ahead and fulfilled her promises. I wish the Police had acted accordingly!”

Prossy Mirembe, Wamala’s wife who said she is left with four children also reported that for the seven months Nekesa has spent there in their neighbourhood, she was developing disagreements on a daily basis.

“She could throw stones on the church roof during our prayers. Imagine she found the church there,” Mirembe said.

It is alleged that Wamala was first rushed to Kasangati Health Centre where the health workers refused to admit him saying he was in a very critical condition which they could not address.

They therefore referred him to Mulago Hospital. However, the relatives decided to branch him off to People’s Health Facility because he was severely breeding. It was at People’s where Wamala was declared dead.
