Kyabazinga Urged to Consider Full-time Prime Minister, Reduced Cabinet

The Katuukiro of Busoga Kingdom, Dr. Joseph Muvawala Nsekere has asked the Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV to allow Busoga have a full-time Katuukiro (Prime Minister) saying it is the only way the work of the kingdom will be done effectively.

Dr. Muvawala also advised the Kyabazinga to have his cabinet reduced to a reasonable number that will be manageable and on monthly payment.

“Having a full-time Katuukiro and a reduced cabinet is the only way to have the work done smoothly,” he said.

Thousands of the Kyabazinga’s subjects, friends of Busoga Kingdom and well-wishers on Wednesday September 13, 2023 turned up for the 9th coronation anniversary of the Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV.

The colourful function was held at Namungalwe Ssaza ground in Kigulu Chiefdom, Iganga district.

During his address, His Royal Highness, the Kyabazinga warned Kingdom officials against selling land that belongs to the Kingdom.

“This is a special announcement, ObwaKyabazinga Bwa Busoga Institution does not sell its land, it just leases it out and among the leases that have so far been issued out, there is no individual lease given out apart from giving organisations that develop ObwaKyabazinga Bwa Busoga,” the Kyabazinga said.

He advised those who claim to have plots on Busoga Kingdom’s land to go to Busoga Kingdom headquarters in Bugembe and re-verify their documents.

He said he can also give express powers of attorney to Busoga Kingdom’s Prime Minister Dr. Joseph Muvawala and they are also registered under the Uganda Registration Services Bureau.

“It is only me who is entitled to give out leases on Busoga Kingdom land” Kyabazinga stressed.

 

The Katuukiro used the same platform to announce a 21 Man’s Organizing Committee for the forthcoming wedding ceremony for the Kyabazinga which will be led by Eng. Patrick M Batumbya who will be deputized by Tibalira Martin with KCCA’s Executive Director Dorothy Kisaka being Incharge of Special assignments.

This team was endorsed by the Isebantu the Kyabazinga himself and it will be Incharge of organising his wedding that will be on the November 18, 2023.

The Katuukiro, Minister for cultural affairs in Obwakyabazinga Richard Mafumo together with the Rt. Hon Rebecca Kadaga who was a special guest and also a representative of the President of Uganda during the event dispelled the rumors that have been circulating following the announcement of HRH Jovia Mutesi on September 7, 2023.

“There have been unsolicited rumors regarding the the origin of HRH Mutesi but I would like to inform all the Busoga that all issues surrounding our Inhebantu is done and dusted, she’s a Musoga 3 1 1 with all her parents and ancestors originating from Busoga,” Kadaga added.
