The Police in Mubende District are guarding a 30-year-old woman who allegedly killed a 50-year-old woman who was accusing her of having secret love affairs with her husband.
Rachael Kawala, the Wamala Region Police spokesperson has identified the accused as Joseylin Nahwera and the deceased as Providence Kabafuruki, who are residents of Kaalokalungi Central Village in Lubimbiri sub-county, Mubende district.
It is alleged that the duo has been fighting for Julius Kashari, a husband to the deceased who purportedly had secret love affairs with the suspect, Nahwera.
Kabafuruki is said to have gone to Nahwera’s home with the intention of beating her up for having illegally shared a love portion with her husband.
“The two had weapons which they used during their fight. Unfortunately, Nahwera managed to overpower Kabafuruki and killed her,” said one of the eyewitnesses.
The residents upon hearing about Kabafuruki’s murder they turned against Nahwera whom they seriously beaten before she was saved and rushed to one of the health units where she is receiving treatment under the police watch.
Kawala said that Nahwera is charged with murder and soon after treatment she will be taken to police and court to face the long arm of the law.
She advised the public to always report such matters to either local councils or to Police but to desist from taking the law into their hands.
