It’s a double blessing for the National Unity Platform (NUP) fraternity as they had just successfully unveiled their Party headquarters located at Makerere-Kavule in Kawempe Division, Kampala district a few days ago, the party Principal, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu has again communicated with joy, that United Kingdom has lifted the travel ban which was imposed on him several years ago.

Kyagulanyi has however accorded the success to the party UK-based legal team and the party’s Diaspora comrades for relentlessly fighting and widely raising their voices consistently protesting against the ban.

He said that the main argument and unfairness was that the UK had its doors widely open for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni whom he said is a renowned oppressor, yet under unclear circumstances, he (Kyagulanyi) was banned from going to UK despite his fight for building a free and democratic Uganda.

The Principal said that after his ban being lifted, after more than 10 years, he now plans to visit the UK very soon to further build the party’ diaspora roots.

In his message, Kyagulanyi said, “I want to appreciate our legal team in the UK for the relentless fight and our NUP/People Power diaspora comrades for constantly raising your voices through protests as well as knocking on different doors.

I am very glad to inform you that the ban against me from entering the UK has finally been overturned, and I will soon be visiting the UK after more than 10 years.”
