Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa has asked the Minister of Health, Jane  Ruth Aceng to bring a statement to Parliament next week responding to the concerns by some Members of Parliaments  about the small size of condoms in Uganda.

Tayebwa has also tasked the Ministry of Health to make sure that the public is educated about the proper condom use.

This task comes as the country is in preparation to commemorate the World Condom Day slated for 13th February 2024.

Apart from the legislators, a number of Ugandan men have boldly come out and showed their discontentment about the small size of condoms on the market, the ones distributed by government at a free cost inclusive.

The use of condoms is one of the ways used to control the spread of HIV/AIDS, other sexually transmitted diseases and also avoid unwanted pregnancies. When the quality of condoms on the market are not desirable, it means that the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, AIDS inclusive can be on the rise.
